The heavily potted, tapering, rounded body painted in deep tones of underglaze blue with two dragons racing through clouds and flames within blue line borders, the mark written on the rounded band below the rim

Lot Essay

A similar blue and white fish bowl decorated with writhing five-clawed dragons amidst clouds, but with a Jiajing mark, is illustrated in Selected Ceramics from the Collection of Mr. & Mrs. J.M. Hu, Shanghai Museum, 1989, p. 285, no. 152.
