Lot Essay

Although there are a number of monochrome-glazed, circular, fluted dishes modelled after the chrysanthemum flower with Yongzheng and Qianlong marks, bowls in the shape of this example appear to be rare. A larger bowl of the same flower form, bearing a Yongzheng mark, was sold Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 17 May 1988, lot 72.
