A Rare Small Celadon-Glazed Quadruple Vase
Yongzheng four-character seal mark and of the period
Unusually formed as four conjoined cylindrical vases with rounded shoulder and short waisted neck, covered with a glaze of pale blue-green tone thinning to a paler tone on the mouth rim and repeated on the base of each vase on which is reserved one character of the four-character mark
3¾in. (9.5cm.) high, wood stand, cloth box

Lot Essay

A Yongzheng-marked vase of this unusual form, but of slightly larger size and covered with a ru-type glaze, in the National Palace Museum, Tapei, was included in the exhibition, Monochrome Porcelains of the Ch'ing Dynasty, 1981, no. 77.
