A Pair of Large Famille Rose Baluster Vases and Covers
Late 18th/19th century
Each painted with a pair of peacocks standing amidst branching tree peony and magnolia above a band of yellow petal lappets, the waisted neck encircled by a foliate cloud collar suspending ribbon-tied chimes and floral pendants and incorporating iron-red bats suspending lotus blossoms, all below a band of foliate key pattern reserved on a yellow ground encircling the mouth rim, the domed cover decorated en suite below a gilded Buddhistic lion finial
