Depicting a human figure in white against a black ground with chakras, of consisting of animals, wrathful figures, and pacific deities painted over its vital organs and a lotus stalk emerging from the head, flanked by mountain outcrops, a mythical animal and a sage at top, inscribed in Nepali throughout

Lot Essay

The image of the cosmic primordial being is widespread amongst the Jain and Hindu communities but is rarely depicted in a Buddhist context in Nepal, as in the present case.
