A Gilt Bronze Figure of Amitayus
Tibeto-Chinese, Yongle Mark and Period (1403-25)
Finely cast seated on a double lotus base with beaded rims in dhyanasana with his hands on his lap, elaborately dressed with windswept sash in robes gathered in folds around his knees and adorned with beaded festoon belt, necklaces, armlets, bracelets, large disk-shaped foliate earrings and a finely detailed tiara with conical headdress, his hair arranged in linear strands with curling tips and with some tresses falling over his shoulders, his face in a serene expression with incised arched brows centered by an urna, downcast eyes, aquiline nose, and bow shaped lips in a gentle smile
