Lot Essay

This gueridon is based on the work of Charles Topino (received maître in 1753), an example of which was offered in these rooms, lot 165, 14.12.2000.

Jean-Henri Jansen established his business in 1880. He relocated to 9, rue Royale, Paris, in 1885, and became Fournisseur de la Cour d'Espagne, manufacturing furniture in the old and new styles. He exhibited at the 1883 Amsterdam Exhibition and at the Paris 1889 Exposition Universelle, he was awarded a Silver Medal at both.
