The case with foliate-cast handle to the foliate pierced domed top and with urn finials to the four angles, with floral ribbon-tied swags and escutcheon to the front door, glazed sides with foliate pierced panels and on claw-and-ball feet, the Roman and Arabic brass chapter ring with half-hour markers and pierced blued steel hands, signed Cha: Gretton/London, with matted and engraved centre with date aperture, mask spandrels, power lever for strike/silent by 60 now missing, the backplate with pendulum holdfast, engraved with scrolling foliage and signed again Charled Gretton/London, the twin gut fusee six pillar eight hour movement with verge escapement and strike on a bell, restorations
