Lot Essay

The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1919. The gun appears to have been rebarrelled anonymously (the original barrel length is recorded as being 30in.) but there is a possibility that the present barrels are the original ones albeit shortened to 28in. and having had the original proof marks struck off before reproof
