Further details
The above shirt was worn by Cyril Robinson in the 1953 F.A. Cup final. The 1953 F.A. Cup final, or the 'Matthews final' as it is more commonly known, is undoubtedly the most dramatic to have graced the twin towers of Wembley. In their third cup final in the space of six years, Blackpool trailed Bolton Wanderers 3-1 with twenty minutes remaining, Mortensen having scored his side's only goal. He then scored two further goals in quick succession, the second was a tremendous direct shot from a free-kick outside the box to complete the first and (so far) only cup final hat-trick at Wembley. With a few minutes remaining Stanley Matthews crossed to Perry who dispatched the ball into the net to make the scoreline 4-3 and gave Blackpool the trophy for the first time
