A SET OF SIX NORTH ITALIAN BAROQUE PAINTED AND PARCEL-GILT DINING CHAIRS
probably Venice, circa 1720
Comprising four side chairs and two armchairs, each padded rectangular back, arms and seat covered in blue and white cotton upholstery, on scrolling shell and acanthus-sheathed legs, joined by an X-stretcher, decorated with bellflower husks, centered by a five ball cartouche on stepped block feet, redecorated, previously silvered, later corner blocks, the feet possibly originally with further elements (6)
