The padded arched seat, shaped wings, arms and seat cushion close-nail upholstered in tan rocaille acanthus-patterned textured silk, the arms with scrolled terminals on downswept uprights, the bown front seat rail centered with a flowerhead clasps, each cabriole leg headed by a flowerhead garland and with upspringing acanthus-sheathed feet, the frame grooved overall

Jean Gourdin, dit Père Gourdin, established his workshop on the rue de Cléry and is known to have been active between 1737 and 1763.
