A Goanaese ivory stand
17th/18th Century
carved with a religious figure, reclining beside a cross with one hand resting on an opened book, flanked by mythical beasts and beneath tiers of sheep and birds among rockwork and plantain -- 3 5/8in. (9.3cm.) high, (age cracks, minor chips to extremities).
