A Wedgwood black basalt candlestick
19th Century, impressed Wedgwood mark
Modelled by John Flaxman as a triton turned to his left, clutching a large spiralling shell issuing up-turned leaves forming a nozzle, kneeling on a rocky outcrop with his fish tail-shaped legs wrapped beneath him (slight firing cracks, minute footrim chip)
