II-VI, printed in red and black in pt. III, 141 engraved plates only (of 152), 11 folding (lacking 11 plates, title and a few preliminary leaves in pt. I, 3 leaves in pt. V and 10 leaves in pt. VI, plate no. 24 in pt. II defective, E4 in pt. VI severly torn with some loss, pt. II detached and loosely inserted, a few tears, mainly without loss, a few margins frayed, browned and lightly waterstained), old blind-stamped calf (front cover detached, worn). A rare iconography of early machinery. Sold not subject to return.
