A well engineered ½in. scale 2½in. gauge model of the New York Central Hudson 4-6-4 locomotive and tender No. 5405 mounted for display purposes
and built by C.B. Lansing, Jnr., with firetube boiler with water and pressure gauges, safety and clack valves and washout plug. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with Walschaert's valve gear, valve chest lubricators and cylinder draincocks, fluted connecting and coupling rods, sanding pipes, pipework, headlamp, cowcatcher, buckeye coupling, ladders and hand irons. Tender details include twin six-wheel bogies, hand feed pump, ladder, steps and hand irons. Finished in black (some minor paint loss) and mounted on a ballasted showtrack with the wheels just clear, the plinth under containing electric powered chain drive to five axles. Measurements overall -- 19½ x 60½in. (49.5 x 153.5cm.). Glazed cover.
