A finely engineered exhibition standard 7½in. gauge freelance 4-4-0 locomotive and tender
built by L.S. Polychroniades, completed in 1935 and loosely based on a Caledonian Railway prototype, with riveted copper boiler with stay and firetubes and fittings including two water gauges with shut-off cocks, level test cocks, pressure gauge, safety, two blower, steam brake, whistle, donkey pump, injector and other valves. Chassis details include twin inside cylinders with Joy valve gear, cab controlled draincocks, displacement lubrication system, a finely detailed and finished running board mounted single cylinder feed pump with expansion dome, displacement lubricator and feed water pre-heater coil, two crosshead driven feed pumps with pressure domes, injector and whistle. Further details include fluted coupling rods, steam operated brake gear, running board mounted jack, riveting and fine detailing of valves and cocks. Tender details include twin four wheel bogies with compensated working leaf springs, steam and hand operated brake gear, hand feed pump, water cocks, riveting, steps, hand and lamp irons, unpainted -- 21 x 86in. (53.3 x 218.5cm.) Show track and glazed display case.
