Lot Essay

Related bedsteps, but lacking the fretted handles and with eared corners to the reeded tablets, were supplied in 1811 by Gillows of London and Lancaster for Tatton Park, Cheshire (N. Goodison and J. Hardy, 'Gillows at Tatton Park', Furniture History, Leeds, 1970, fig. 11B).
