In the neo-classical style, surmounded by a simulated black relief marble top, the frieze with elegant flowers and foliate within ormolu border and stylised foliate demi-lune floral leaf lunette apron below and similar frieze with cartouches with panel back below between panels of flowers and foliate scrolls and acanthus leaf pillasters reeded lotus capital columns with anthemion ornament below flanked by stylised swans and dolphin masks on a plinth base with simulated marble top and trailing vine relief plinth base on bun feet

A console by Leo von Klenze with related frieze is illustrated in H. Kreisel Die Kunst des Deutschen Mobels, Munich 1973 vol.III fig. 522. With similarities to a console sold at Christie's King Street on 9 December, 1993, lot 327.
