A Japanese lacquer and resin hair comb
19th/20th Century
decorated in gold lacquer with quails amongst kuki and rockwork -- 4in. (10.1cms) wide; eleven further hair combs of resin, lacquer, tortoise shell and wood all variously decorated -- 4¼in. (10.8cms) wide max; a lacquer hair pin decorated in gold lacquer maple leaves on a black lacquer ground -- 6 5/8in. (17cms) long; and ten further hair pins of resin, lacquer, wood and metal all variously decorated -- 6 5/8in. (17cms), (some losses).
