A JEWELLED SILVER-GILT AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL CASKET
marked Khlebnikov with the Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1908-1917
Oblong, on four bracket feet, with two swing handles, enamelled overall with stylized foliage and flowers and geometric motifs, on stippled ground panels with blue, green or red ground borders, and embellished with gilt beading, the partly domed cover set with a cabochon green stone at each corner and similarly decorated with three plain cartouches enclosing a cypher at the top NW and the date in Russian '26 August' '1910' front and back within pale blue borders, marked under base and on upper rim
