A CONTINENTAL GOLD-MOUNTED IMARI PORCELAIN TEAPOT
The porcelain Arita ware Imari type, circa 1700; the gold mounts possibly 18th century
Faceted globular with a circular handle, the slightly domed cover with ball finial attached by a chain to the handle and spout, the spout mounted with a hinged cover, the porcelain decorated with underglaze cobalt blue and painted in red iron oxide and gilt over a clear glaze with flowers and foliage, apparently unmarked
