GREENE, Graham. The Power and the Glory. London, 1940. 8o. Original yellow cloth (very slightly cocked, spine ends showing just a few spots of wear, fore-edges and half-title spotted), dust jacket (some light spotting on verso and white portion of the front panel, slight fading), actually a very good copy of this book, its cheap pulpy paper (and fragile) production the result of wartime shortages. FIRST EDITION of what is arguably Greene's greatest novel (the other contender, Brighton Rock, he labelled an "entertainment"). Connolly The Modern Movement 88.
