Lot Essay

Standing Woman was presented by the artist to The Anglo American Contemporary Dance Foundation in May 1982 to raise funds in support of contemporary dance. The Foundation was established to encourage transatlantic cultural exchanges and in particular, for the support of the activities of the late Robin Howard, a pioneer of contemporary dance.
