A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD
Circa 1780
The tulipwood-banded bowfronted top over a conforming case with central frieze drawer above a kneehole with fan-carved spandrels, flanked to either side by two graduated false drawer fronts, one a hinged door and the other a deep drawer formerly with divides, each door with similar banding and ribbon-wrapped reeded oval pulls with oval cabochon backplates, on tapering squared legs with spade feet, the back of top originally with an overhang to accomodate a gallery and now reduced in depth, brasses replaced
