The central scene is by another hand, close to Abraham van Diepenbeeck.
We are grateful to Mr. Fred Meijer of the RKD for confirming the attribution on the basis of photographs. He considers the picture to be a late work by the artist, noting that the signature is characteristic for works of the period.
