Circa 1880, blue S monogrammed painter's palette marks
Of Japanesque form, with pierced lotus and moulded bamboo borders enriched in gilt, finely painted with panels of standing and seated figures in Japanese costumes alternating with panels of exotic flowers, comprising: a double-gourd coffee-pot and cover, a kettle-form teapot and cover with metal handle, a cream-jug, a sugar-bowl and cover, five cups and reticulated saucers; together with six conical cups enriched with gilt crane and foliage resting in pierced ormolu holders
