A Louis XV style giltwood and Aubusson three-piece salon suite
Circa 1880
Comprising a canapé and pair of fauteuils, each piece with laurel-festooned shaped back with acanthus cresting, the crimson-ground upholstery depicting the Royal children at play, the scrolled arms with padded rests, the canapé seat upholstery centred by a pigeon, floral garland and crossed thyrsi, within floral framework, the seat of one fauteuil with musical instruments, the other with crown and sceptres, the reverse sides upholstered with floral crimson silk brocade, with acanthus-carved apron, on foliate-carved cabriole legs and scrolled feet
