A letter of accreditation for the new French Ambassador to Chile, Robert de Dampierre. De Gaulle was President of the Provisional Government of the French Republic for two years following the Second World War. The letter is countersigned by Foreign Minister Georges Bidault, one of the principal opponents of de Gaulle's Algerian policy during his second period in office.
