A PHOENICIAN ENGRAVED BRONZE BOWL CIRCA 7TH CENTURY B.C.
The interior engraved with multiple lotus petals radiating from a central shallow omphalos, with two rope pattern friezes, the upper providing a groundline for a processional frieze of seven striding female-headed winged sphinxes, each in profile to the left with curled tail and high-stepping right foreleg, the rim curved inwards
6 1/8 in. (15.6 cm.) diam.
