This Ptolemaic Prince is shown wearing the plaited sidelock of youth, the royal emblem of childhood. This sidelock is characteristic of the high priests of Ptah, of the sons of Ramesses II and by extension all the sons of Pharaohs. The attentive expression, designed to evoke the gentleness of youth, and the rounded face are typical Ptolemaic features.
