Engraved with four lines of late Sumerian cuneiform text reading: "To (the god) Ishtaran, his lord, Kurigalzu, gave (this)", pierced for suspension, edge chips
1½ x 1 5/16 in. (3.9 x 3.3 cm.)

Lot Essay

The donor is Kurigalzu, one of the Kassite kings of Babylon, most probably Kurigalzu II (reigned circa 1332-1308 B.C.).
