A VILLANOVAN IMPASTO WARE DOUBLE-HANDLED JAR

With burnished black surface, the cup with double handles twisted into a loop at the top, the body decorated with two spiral knobs within a pattern of raised ribs and hatched lines, a slight dimple to centre of the base; and a Villanovan impasto-ware vessel, the single ribbon handled bowl with black colouring, squat carinated body with faint diagonal ribs around the upper half, three bronze studs around the belly, a further cluster of eight studs beneath the handle, repair to handle, some restoration, 8th-7th Century B.C.
