A SYRIAN HAEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 1800-1600 B.C.
Showing two facing figures sitting on a platform, between them a tall collared jar in which are two drinking tubes which curve into two vessels held by the seated figures, each with standing attendant behind who raises one hand up, a human hand, another smaller hand, a small rhomb and another tall jar in the the field; a Neo-Babylonian chalcedony cylinder seal with a wheel-cut kneeling archer taking aim at a rearing winged sphinx, a fish, rhomb, star and crescent in the field, small edge chips, circa 1000-800 B.C.; a Persian bitumen cylinder seal with a three-branched sacred tree flanked by two rampant ibexes, a monkey, two flies, a fish, a bird and two rhombs in the field, circa 1200-800 B.C.; an Old Babylonian cornelian cylinder seal with a god being approached by three worshippers, a crescent above, circa 2000-1700 B.C.; and a Syrian black stone cylinder seal, with a four-spiralled motif and two stylized animal(?) motifs, circa 2800-2600 B.C.
