TWO SOUTH TURKMENISTAN BRONZE AND STONE STAMP SEALS
EARLY 2ND MILLENNIUM B.C.
Comprising a bronze trifacial stamp seal with triangular profile, deeply engraved on each long rectangular face with a) two heraldic eagles one above the other, with heads in profile, their tail feathers and wings outspread, together with two snakes whose heads appear above the wings of the upper eagle, b) a recumbent lion, c) a winged griffin-lion creature, its tail curling over its back, pierced longitudinally with traces of iron pin; and a black stone bifacial square seal with lentoid profile, deeply carved on one face with a recumbent griffin-like creature, the other face with eagle-like motif with wings and tail-feathers, the head replaced by ribbed horns, pierced for suspension through the thicker centre
