A GROUP OF MAINLY ROMAN TRANSLUCENT GLASS FLASKS
CIRCA 1ST-5TH CENTURY A.D.
Including two balsamaria each with twin phials, one with applied zigzag trail on the neck and spiralling around the body, the other with applied twin wavy side handles, one partially missing, 4¼ in. (10.8 cm.) and 4 5/8 in. (11.7 cm.) high; four unguentaria with tall cylindrical necks and conical or bulbous bodies, one of heavy green glass, 7 to 4½ in. (17.8 to 11.4 cm.) high; a smaller flask with hexagonal indented body; another with ovoid body; another with cylindrical body and pushed in base, 3½ in. (8.9 cm.) high max.; a circular green glass lid with folded horizontal rim, 3½ in. (8.9 cm.) diam., all circa 1st-5th Century A.D.; an Egyptian turquoise glazed composition shabti holding hoe and mattock with seed basket over one shoulder, repaired; the upper part of an inscribed glazed composition shabti; a pottery shabti, 3½ in. (9 cm.) high max.; an Egyptian green glazed composition amulet of striding Nefertum on the back of a lion, plumed headdress missing, 1½ in. (3.7 cm.) high, all circa 6th-1st Century B.C.; and two turquoise glazed pottery lamps, Islamic period(a lot)
