Mallard among Reeds at the Water's Edge

Recognized primarily as a painter of grand animal portraits, Kuhnert studied and worked in Berlin. He was one of the earliest artists to study large animals in their natural habitat, rather than merely in the zoo, and travelled in northern and southern Africa and India.
