A chronometer is a high-precision watch which has successfully passed the tests performed by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres or Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.

During a period of 15 days and 15 nights, the movement of the watch is tested in 5 positions and at 3 different temperatures, subjecting it to extremely rigorous conditions.
