With gilt-finished jewelled two train lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, grande sonnerie hour, quarter hours and minutes striking and carillon repeating on three hammers onto three gongs, gold cuvette, the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, gilt spade hands, subsidiary seconds, in heavy circular case with engraved horseshoe and initials to the front, silent/strike lever in the bezel, repeating button in the band, case, cuvette and movement signed

Lot Essay

The carillon repeating mechanism is more complicated than the normal one and is usually found in clock watches. It features three or four gongs instead of only two. The quarter hours of the present watch are stroke on three hammers onto three gongs and chime three tunes.
