With gilt-finished verge movement, engraved and pierced cock, chain fusée, the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, blued steel moon-style hands, the circular case with diamond-set bezel and rim, ribbed band, the reverse centred by translucent green guilloché enamel, the front similarly decorated and centred by gold and pearl-set initials ML and a gold, scarlet enamel and pearl-set crown, together with a matching 18K gold, pearl and paste-set châtelaine, key, exhibition label, unsigned

It is thought that the French Consul in Turin offered the present watch to the Empress Marie-Louise during her passage in his city after she left France in 1814.

The front of the watch is decorated with her initials and the Imperial crown.
