These plaques derive from pastoral oils by François Boucher (d. 1770). The view entitled Les charmes de la vie champêtre (now in the Museé du Louvre, Paris) was painted around 1742. The second plaque is taken from one of a pair of pictures showing the pleasures of rural sports, this one entitled Fishing, it dates from around 1766 together with its companion Hunting.
