Lot Essay

Major-General Richard Hall was commissioned as an Ensign in the 25th Madras N.I. and joined the 49th Madras N.I. in December 1823. Having commanded the Regiment in the Pegu Campaign, he retired as an Hon. Major-General in 1861 and died on 13.1.1878.
