Private Thomas Henry Mugridge, who was from Camels Head, Plymouth, was killed in action at Medjez-el-Bab, Tunisia on 21.4.1943, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. That day, in a fiercely fought engagement to repel an enemy attack, the Battalion sustained casualties of 14 killed, 22 wounded and 70 missing, all of the latter becoming Prisoners of War.
