Lieutenant Alexander Melville Kennedy, M.C., who first entered the French Theatre of War in September 1915, where he joined the 8th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers, afterwards sailed with the 8th for Salonika and participated in operations around Lake Dorian. Sometime thereafter transferring to the 11th Battalion as an Acting Captain, he returned to France and was killed in action on 26.3.1918. Kennedy has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozières Memorial.
