A large Meissen Schneeballen vase and cover
Second half 19th Century
Applied all over with yellow-centred white mayflowers and trailing branches issuing ball terminals, the bell-shaped cover applied with two birds, the bulbous upper part of the body with two further birds of larger size, above a separate lower trellis part simulating a cage with a bird and further Schneeballen inside, above a circular stepped base, marked to its underside with the Meissen blue swords, resting on a velvet socle
