A Napoleon III ormolu garniture
In the Louis XV Style
Comprising a mantel clock and a pair of nine-light candelabra, decorated overall with 'C'-scrolls, scrolling foliage and trailing flowers, the circular white-enamelled dial with pierced hands and Roman and Arabic numerals, the twin-train movement with countwheel striking on a bell, inset in a circular case with waisted base surmounted by a foliate finial issuing trailing flowers, flanked by two allegorical young maidens emblematic of Spring and Summer, on foliate-cast stepped base, on scrolling feet; each candelabrum cast as a putto, one emblematical of Autumn, the other Winter, carrying nine foliate scrolling branches, on foliate stepped shaped bases
The clock: 33 1/8 in (84.2 cm.) wide; 32½ in. (82.5 cm.) high; 10½ in. (26.7 cm.) deep
