Summer holidays were spent in Birchington, Kent and winters in Gstaad, Switzerland. It was in Birchington that Kathleen spent many idyllic summer days playing on the sands. One of these holidays are detailed in her 'Nature Note Book' diary in 1914, which would probably have been the last time before The Great War. A wonderful collection of Edwardian photographs featured Kathleen, Nora (unfortunately, not Pat) and their many wonderful holidays playing on the beach.
