[EMBLEMS-ORIGINAL DESIGNS] McCALL, Robert. 3 sheets with over 12 preliminary designs of the Mission Control (Houston) emblem. Initially called Flight Control, sheets approx. 19 x 23 in., folded. World- famous artist Robert McCall designed the Mission Control emblem after consulting with key NASA personnel. The sketches show his initial ideas that ultimately became the Mission Control emblem. [With:] McCall ALS (on his personal stationery) to then Flight Director Eugene Kranz explaining his thoughts on these designs and asking for comments and a color NASA print of the design as used today.
