The base stand represents the St. Louis Gateway Arch where all McDonnell Gemini spacecraft were manufactured and has the official McDonnell Gemini Program emblem etched toward the front. A mat under the base has been INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY ALDRIN, COOPER, SCHIRRA, STAFFORD with: "Buzz Aldin, GT-12", "Gordon Cooper, GT-5", "Wally Schirra, GT-6", and "Tom Stafford, GT 6 , 9".
