Lot Essay

Dr. Edward Adrian Wilson was the Chief of the Scientific Staff of the South Pole Expedition. He was a medical doctor as well as a well-known naturalist and one of the most respected Polar zoologists of his day. Before Scott died he wrote of him 'He died, as he lived, a brave, true man - the best of comrades and the staunchest of friends'.
